I about lost my mind in Storyboarding today. We were assigned today to create a character, then create a turn around(Front, 3 quarters, side and back), and later we'll be creating a storyboard for it. the professor asked that we keep it G-rated... she's anti-gorey stuff. Poor thing- I imagine being a character design teacher at a community college puts a lot of very special things in front of you. About half the class argued about it, some playfully, some in seriousness...

I participated a little, mostly out of boredom. She'd already okayed my character so it wasn't like it particularly mattered to me. But the class kept going and going about it even after she said that if you do it, its an automatic fail on the project. This one guy who's been driving me up the frickin wall all semester was one of the most vocal. He kept trying to say that without death there was no character developement. A lot of stories have been doing it wrong for a long time then I guess.

Well, the sweet slip of a thing from the back of the room spoke up and made a very valid point- as artists, we must abide by our commissioner's requests. So when we are asked to keep violence, gore, death, whatever out of our design, if we want to get paid, we will respect that. The guy stopped for a second, listened, then carried on yelling to the teacher like a moron. Now, the poor slip of a thing has been subject to the guy's prattlings on about life and god knows what else(I try really hard to tune him out) because she's the only one who will listen. But this guy doesn't have enough sense or respect to shut the hell up after this girl speaks.

By this time, I'm now both bored and aggitated. Anyone who's spent a fair amount of time with me knows this is bad. I get so special... and I did here. I did not yell- I spoke loudly and with force. I told the guy to stop it, get over it, do the assignment as asked or get out of the classroom. Not quite so concisely or pleasantly, but that was the gist of it. He was quiet for awhile. It was nice

So the lowest ring of hell is reserved for people who try to pass off fake things as the real things... I translate that to plagiarism. The same special boy from earlier was muttering plagiarism loudly under his breath. I was drawing the 3/4ths view on my turn around [link] while I had this picture on the screen [link] I also had two or three other pictures tabbed behind it( [link] , [link] , [link] )...

I swear to god if he pulls anymore crap I might punch him in the mouth.
